Route 67 Car Crash Claims Two Victims

fatal crashA violent crash just before 6 last night has claimed the lives of two women and sent a pair of children to Albany Medical Center with life threatening injuries. Here’s what happened according to investigators from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department. A van operated by 68 year old David Bain. of Amsterdam was headed east on Route 67 in Hagaman when it crossed the center line and entered the westbound lane where it struck a vehicle operated by 33 year old Tanya Sleight. In the Slieght vehicle were a 39 year old woman and three children ages 2, 7 and 9. Slieght and the 39 year old female were pronounced dead at the scene. The 39 year old’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The 2 and 9 year olds were flown to Albany Medical Center. David Bain was taken by ambulance to St Mary’s Healthcare for treatment of what police are describing as non-life threatening injuries. The 7 year old was also transported to the Emergency Room with minor injuries. The accident is still under investigation .. no tickets have been issued at this time.
